Marygrove Named as a 2013 Leader in Child Abuse Prevention
SAINT LOUIS, MO (APRIL 2013) – Marygrove has been awarded recognition as a “2013 Leader in Child Abuse Prevention” for the impact they have had on promoting healthy child development and the prevention of child abuse and neglect. During April, Child Abuse Prevention Month, a select number of organizations within the state of Missouri are being recognized for their exemplary leadership in accepting the responsibility of child abuse prevention and taking steps to protect children in their communities.
Marygrove will be recognized for achievements during the Pinwheels for PreventionTM Community Pinwheel Garden Ceremony at noon on April 17, 2013 at the State Capitol. Representatives from Marygrove will attend the Community Ceremony in honor of the children they serve.
The Missouri Prevention Partners believe that child abuse can be prevented and each of us has a role to play to help children live free from abuse and neglect. “Marygrove has been committed to helping children in need for over 150 years. We consider it a privilege to help the children in our care overcome childhood traumas and move toward a brighter future, and to help families break the cycle of abuse and neglect” says Sr. Helen Negri, Marygrove’s Chief Executive Officer.
Marygrove helps over 170 children and young adults each day recover from abuse, neglect and other childhood traumas and develop life skills that will help them move toward a more healthy and productive future. Marygrove is one of the largest therapeutic residential treatment programs in Missouri, and also enriches the lives of young people through its transitional and independent living, and crisis services programs.
